Thrive 2018

5 May 2018

Kings Park Community Church

Unit 1/13 Turbo Rd, Kings Park

The reality of discipleship is that it doesn’t stop when we are having a bad day and it doesn’t necessarily get better when we are feeling great!  Join us as Connie Duarte brings us lessons in discipleship from the book of Matthew and as we consider what it means to be disciples who Thrive through our failures and our victories.  Hope Miles will bring us an interactive session where we will be challenged to examine our own hearts and consider the fruit in our lives and what needs to be done to continue as fruitful disciples.

Connie Main Duarte is one of the pastors at the Meeting Point, a Baptist church in Estoril, Portugal. She is the Chair of Mission-Net, a movement to promote a missional lifestyle amongst young people in Europe and also coordinates a discipleship programme for staff and young graduates at GBU Portugal. Connie loves teaching and preaching and longs to see more young people using their gifts both in missions and the local church. Her bigger passion is her family: her husband João, and their two boys, Joshua and Caleb.

Hope Miles is a staff member at Anchor Church in Sydney’s inner west. Hope is involved in training and resourcing Gospel Triplets to shepherd one another with the good news of Jesus. She also leads Gospel Care Groups. Hope is passionate about seeing people grow in their understanding of the gospel and their gospel identity. She’s excited to see people’s stories rewritten by God’s Story, and for people to experience the healing, change and freedom that can be found in the gospel. Hope is currently balancing her responsibilities at Anchor Church with full-time theological study at Moore College.
